HP Pavilion HDX 16t Review, Video and gallery

Latest HP Pavilion HDX 16t Review. The HDX 16t is for all intents and purposes a scaled down HDX18t so if space is at a premium then this is the HDX version to go for. Added to that your also going to save a few Dollars without sacrificing any off the outstanding performance.

The Pavilion HDX16t is a sophisticated and innovative entertainment notebook which features a striking titanium design, a vividly bright, ultra wide, flush glass display with optional 1080p and 16:9 ratio, home theatre quality audio and video, a built-in TV tuner, Blu-ray, and NVIDIA GeForce 9600M GT graphics.

At 6.8lbs the HP HDX16t is 2.2 lbs lighter than the HDX 18t so it is definitely no Ultraportable and falls firmly into the desktop replacement category but it is certainly transportable. The HDX 18t on the other hand was not really designed to be moved around and is more of a multi location notebook PC for moving about the home, from home to office, your weekend place, or even as an RV hybrid notebook/entertainment center.

The 16″ widescreen with its stunning looks and 1080p resolution represents a shift from notebooks that are just pure workhorses. The HDX16t like the larger HDX18t are crossing that line and are also doubling up as high-definition home theatres which designed to fit into a living room, entertainment room or home office.

The HDX16t looks superb with its sleek modern lines and bold design features on the outside which continue on the inside with the palm rests and the touchpad receiving the same treatment.

Like the HDX18t the keyboard on the HDX16t is full-size with a numeric keypads. It feels good to use for prolong periods when you’re not entertaining yourself and its time to do some work. The 16-inch widescreen is vibrant and rich with excellent viewing angels at a 16:9 aspect ratio for viewing HDTV and movies. The Pavilion HDX16t delivers a sensational movie experience.

Don’t forget to option in the internal ATSC TV tuner and at least the Lightscribe Blu-Ray ROM. Adding both options will add $140 to the base price of $999 plus any other additional options that you choose, but these are both almost mandatory if you want to get the most out of this superb system.

The HDX16t has 4 USB ports, a space-saving eSATA/USB combo port and a multi-card reader so you have plenty of connectivity.

If you go for the 2.8-GHz Intel Core 2 Duo T9600 processor you get a blazingly fast machine that is more than capable of handling any entertainment, work or gaming task and with the now available 12 Cell battery option you should be able to see 4 to 4/12 hours of off mains usage which is pretty good for a notebook of this size.

Make no mistake, this notebook makes a Raptor jet fighter look slow and the nVidia GeForce 9600M GT is powerful enough right now to handle even the newest games.
