The HP G62t gives everyone a taste of what was once only available in the more high-end Envy line of notebooks. Starting at just $479, the new HP G62t features plenty of what you need – power, performance, storage, portability – without the shock-inducing price tag.

With the HP G62t, you can choose from Intel’s full line of processors, from the price-conscious Pentium P6100 (2.00GHz, 3MB L3 Cache) to the high-performance Core i5-460M (2.53GHz, 3MB L3 Cache). If you’re simply looking for a machine capable of doing a bit of homework or Web surfing, then the Pentium processor is a good choice. If, however, you want a solid multimedia machine or something with a bit more multitasking power, then you should probably go with the Core i5 processor.

Economically Attractive

The HP G62t comes with 2GB DDR3 RAM standard, but HP is currently offering a free upgrade to 4GB DDR3 RAM, which will come in really handy when you’re playing advanced video games or running complex software packages.

Surprisingly, especially for such an economically attractive machine, the HP G62t comes with a beautiful 15.6-inch high definition display, which has a native resolution of 1366×768 and which features an LED backlight to prevent glare and poor visibility in harsh lighting conditions.

The base model of the HP G62t comes with an Intel HD Graphics Card, which should handle the majority of your everyday graphics needs, but if you want to play true high-definition video or graphically immersive video games, then you’ll want to upgrade to the ATI Mobility Radeon HD5470 graphics card, which comes with either 512MB or 1GB of graphics memory.

Become Immersed in your HP G62t Laptop

Need storage space? The HP G62t has plenty of that. The base model comes with a 250GB 7,200RPM hard drive, and HP is currently offering a free upgrade to a 320GB 5,400RPM drive. If you want the maximum speed and storage, you can also get a 500GB 7,200RPM drive, which should be more than enough for your applications, files, movies and music.

The HP G62t comes standard with an integrated DVD-R dual-layer optical drive, but since HP knows that its users are entertainment fans the company has included an option to upgrade to DVD-R/BluRay drive, which gives movie lovers the opportunity to watch flaw-free high-definition movies at home or on the road.

The HP G62t Is Flawless

Other features of the HP G62t include: an integrated webcam and microphone, audio jacks, great stereo speakers, integrated WiFi, Ethernet, optional Bluetooth, three USB ports, a 5-in-1 media card reader, and both HDMI and VGA video outputs.

The design of the new HP G62t is a nice departure from the company’s previous high-gloss tone. The new case features squarer edges and a slim form to provide for portability and stability. There are very nice inlay geometric patterns on the cover and the flat palm rest with flush touchpad is a very nice touch.

My hp g62t runs like a dream after a week however i would like to create a data partition on my hdd but the pc by default already has 4 and i’m pretty confused as to what to do now. Hp would do better to not appropriate all 4 allowed partitions in the future.
