For years now, HP has been putting out some of the most powerful machines for the money and the release of the next generation of the HP Pavilion keeps that tradition alive. Now, for as little as $629 you can get a wonderful, powerful, and scalable workstation capable of doing pretty much anything that you need, whether it’s writing a report, finishing up a day’s work or kicking back to enjoy the latest movie or video game.

HP Pavilion P6780t | Great Performance on a Budget

When outfitting your HP Pavilion P6780t, you have four processor choices, each of which includes the latest improvements of Intel’s second-generation iCore processors. Are you ready for the best part? Each processor option has four cores, which makes this the ultimate multi-tasking machine.

The base model comes with the Intel Core i5-2300 quad-core chip and 4GB of DDR3 memory. That will give you enough power to run all of the basic office and multimedia software and even some of the latest video games.

However, if you want to really go for the gold in terms of capability, opt for the maximum 12GB of RAM and the Intel Core i7-2600 quad-core chip with Turbo-Boost, which can give you up to 3.8GHz of processing power for those moments that you really it, whether you’re storming the terrorist stronghold in Call of Duty or putting the finishing touches on your latest photos, graphics, videos or animations.

HP Pavilion P6780t | Entertainment Go-To Machine

There’s one word that comes to mind when considering the HP Pavilion P6780t: entertainment. This machine is built for it.

Intel’s HD 2000 integrated graphics card starts out the offering and provides you with HDMI, VGA, and DVI ports for connection to the display of your choice. This shouldn’t be confused with the last incarnation of integrated graphics cards; the HD 2000 chip is better than many previous discreet card models, giving you an affordable alternative from some of the pricier chipsets.

If you are really going to be pushing the graphics boundary, however, you will probably want to run with one of the available discreet graphics cards. Choose NVIDIA’s GeForce or ATI’s Radeon chipsets, each of which are available with between 512MB and 2GB of graphics memory.

HP Pavilion P6780t | Integration And Connection

There is an integrated optical drive – DVD-R or Bluray – and a bay for adding up to two more. There is also a 7.1 Surround Sound Card for pristine digital audio. Add to this the incredible storage options – up to a 2TB 7,200RPM drive – and you have yourself a machine that would make any entertainment hound weep with joy.

Aside from all of the power, the HP Pavilion P6780t also has plenty of room for peripherals, including: a 15-in-1 media card reader; front ports for a camera and MP3 player, optional wireless USB for wireless devices; and six USB ports.
